How to use UnitPulse

UnitPulse tells you how authentic any job posting is. It works in two places that share one account: a Chrome extension that scores jobs right on LinkedIn, Upwork, and Indeed, and a web app where you manage your account, platforms, billing, and history — and can analyze a job by pasting its link or text.

The fastest path to your first score:

1. Create a free account (below).
2. Install the Chrome extension and connect it.
3. Open any job on a supported site — a score badge appears automatically.
4. Click the badge, then Verify for the full evidence-backed report.

1. Go to the sign-up page and enter your email and a password.
2. You land on your dashboard. Every new account starts on the free plan with LinkedIn active.
3. That’s it — no credit card required to start.

Your free plan includes unlimited instant badges and a monthly allowance of full analyses. You can upgrade anytime from Pricing or the Billing tab.

1. Open the UnitPulse listing on the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome.
2. Confirm the permission prompt. UnitPulse only requests access to the supported job sites.
3. Pin the extension (click the puzzle icon in Chrome’s toolbar → pin UnitPulse) so its badge is always visible.

Note: the extension reads only the job page you’re actively viewing — never your messages, connections, or profile.

1. Click the UnitPulse toolbar icon and choose Sign in.
2. A tab opens on the web app — sign in (or sign up). The extension picks up your session automatically.
3. The popup now shows your plan, your active platforms, and your recent analyses.

Your active platforms are set by your plan on the web — the extension mirrors them. Manage them anytime via the Manage platforms button in the popup.

On any supported job page, UnitPulse shows a small badge with a 0–100 score and a color band. This instant preview (we call it Tier-0) is free and unlimited, based on the on-page content.

Click the badge to open the panel, then click Verify company & poster to run the full analysis — this checks the company’s domain and registries, profiles the poster, and searches for the job elsewhere. The full report costs one analysis from your monthly allowance.

• Green — likely real. Amber — mixed signals, read the evidence. Red — high risk or scam indicators.
• A confidence grade (A–D) tells you how much evidence was available for the score.

The report has four tabs:

• Overview — the headline score, the six sub-scores, and a plain-English verdict with the best way to apply.
• Evidence — every individual check and what it contributed (domain age, DNS/email setup, careers page, corroboration, and more).
• Poster — who posted the job, any public profiles found, and whether their role can actually hire.
• Elsewhere — other places the same job appears, and the single best route to apply.

The headline Job Organic Score is a weighted blend of six sub-scores, each 0–100:

• Company Trust — is the employer a real, established organization?
• Poster Trust — is the person posting real, and can they hire?
• Job Authenticity — is the role itself specific and credible?
• Cross-Platform Consistency — do the details line up across sources?
• Hiring Likelihood — is this company actually hiring right now?
• Scam Risk — how many scam patterns are present (higher = worse).

A high Scam Risk caps the overall band at red no matter how the other scores look — one strong danger signal outweighs a polished listing.

UnitPulse flags the patterns real scams share, for example:

• Upfront fees, “training kits,” or requests for payment to start.
• Payment via crypto or gift cards, or asking for SSN/bank details before hiring.
• Interviews that happen only on chat apps (Telegram/WhatsApp).
• Too-good-to-be-true pay for little or no experience.

Each flag is shown with the exact text that triggered it — evidence and likelihood, never accusations.

Your plan includes a set number of platform slots (LinkedIn, Upwork, Indeed, and more). Toggle a platform on from the Platforms tab and it lights up in your extension; toggle it off to swap in another.

• Need more than your plan includes? Add a platform for $10/mo — it activates instantly.
• A platform you’ve analyzed a job on stays active until your next renewal (so limits can’t be gamed by rotating). Unused platforms swap freely.

Manage your plan from the Billing tab or the Pricing page. Toggle monthly or annual (annual saves 15%). Your analysis allowance is pooled across the extension and web app and resets each billing period.

• Free — 1 platform, 10 analyses/month.
• Basic / Professional — more platforms and analyses, single member.
• Enterprise — all platforms, pooled analyses, and multiple seats for teams and agencies.

No extension handy? Open Analyze a job in the web app and paste a job URL or the full text. UnitPulse parses it server-side and returns the same evidence-backed report. Your entire history lives under Scanned jobs.

Some sites (like LinkedIn) are best analyzed with the extension, since they require you to be signed in to view a posting.

The badge isn’t showing on a job page.

• Make sure the platform is active on your plan (check the popup).
• Refresh the page — the badge mounts when the job loads.
• Confirm the extension is pinned and you’re signed in.

My analysis count looks off.

Your allowance is shared between the extension and web app and resets each billing period. Cached re-checks of the same job don’t cost an extra analysis.
